​Montville Township has a Morris County Vote-by Mail Ballot ​drop box

​The drop box is RED, WHITE & BLUE and located in front of Town Hall (195 Changebridge Road, Montville).  You can simply drop your completed ballot there by June 4th at 8pm and it will get picked up by the Board of elections

Important General Election Dates
  • Commencement of mailing of Mail-in ballots for the Primary Election: Sept 21
  • Last day to register to vote for the General Election: Oct 14
  • Sample Ballots mailed: Oct 23
  • Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application: Nov 4
    • Application for a mail-in ballot application can be mailed by Oct. 29th or dropped off at County Clerk's Office (in Morristown) by Oct 29th at 3pm.  If you receive a mail-in ballot you MUST vote by mail-in ballot.  You will not be permitted to vote on the machines. 
  • Early voting period for early In-Person Voting: Oct 26 - Nov 3 at one of these locations 
  • General Election: :November 5  
    • Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    • In-person Mail-in ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections or deposited in an Official Ballot Drop Box by 8 p.m.
    • Mail-in ballots sent by United States Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, November 5th, and received by Monday, November 11th.

How To Register To Vote
There are 3 ways you can register to vote. You can register online, via mail, or in person.
  • Register online:

    • Print this registration application form and send it by mail.
    • Voter Registration Form.
    • Mail to the Morris County Commissioner of Registration, PO Box 900, Morristown, NJ, 07963-9912
  • Register in person: 
    • Print this registration application form and send it by mail: Voter Registration Form
    • Completed voter registration applications and deliver in person and deposited in the drop-off box available in the Lobby of the Administration & Records Building located at 10 Court Street, Morristown, NJ 07960.

Vote-by-Mail
Sometimes referred to as a mail-in ballot or VBM ballot. You must be a registered voter in order
​to receive a ballot.

Early Voting

  • All registered voters in Morris County are eligible to vote early.
  • To vote early no extra steps are needed.  Just show up at any Morris County early polling location during early voting period. 
  • Early voting for the 2024 General Election will take place on Saturday TBD through Sunday November 5.
